The OMICRON Power Utility Communication Tutorial & Workshop 2020 (PUCTW) will focus on:
Engineering and commissioning of IEC 61850 in automation, control and protection of electrical power systems.
Cyber security in Substation Automation Systems.
Additionally, there will be a new concept concerning the workshops with more practical sessions.
Take the unique opportunity to attend the tutorial presentations and to practice IEC 61850 during the workshop. The hands-on experience will familiarize you with IEC 61850 communication, application and testing.
For participants with little or no experience, we also offer the optional IEC 61850 warm-up training. Learn about the concept and technologies of the standard.
"I will be your pilot on the Route to IEC 61850. On a renewed route, our journey will encounter new ways of sharing knowledge.
This time, we have speakers from utilites that share their experiences with IEC 61850 and Digital Substation projects.
Rannveig Løken from Statnett in Norway speaks about planning, design aspects and experiences during commissioning of their Digital Substation pilot project.
Bas Mulder from Stedin in the Netherlands talks about a recents procurement and experiences with vendor evaluations.
The workshop will be conducted in an improved manner that will involve the participants more actively. We will have a common communication network with a small, but representative protection & control application. All workshop stations will closely relate to that application and cover different aspects of it. Participants are motivated to solve prepared tasks in configuring components of the automation system and verify their proper function."
